My name is Jessica Cantiller, and I am a proud educator. I earned my Bachelors in Science in Anthropology from UCLA, and am currently a graduate student at the University of San Francisco pursuing a Masters of Arts in Teaching and a Preliminary Multiple Subjects Teaching Credential. I have been working with kids in informal education settings for ten years in programs such as Vacation Bible School, Filipino Cultural School, Children’s Liturgy, etc. In these programs, I found my love for working with learners of all ages.
Outside of education, I enjoy spending time with my family, attending cultural and music events, visiting museums, singing, arts and crafts, basketball (GO DUBS!!), and cuddling with my dog, Chance the Yapper.
I believe in an equitable education experience that focuses on the holistic development of students; encourages them to use their talents to be critical thinkers, problem solvers, and advocates for their community; and strive to be conscientious global citizens.
As an educator, my role is to invest in each individual student, both academically and outside of school, to personalize their learning experience. I aim to provide my students a safe learning environment that caters to a diverse group of learners by employing strategies to include all students regardless of learning style, ability, race/ethnicity, language, or academic history. Moreover, I will establish good rapport with parents and the school community to extend this environment to beyond the classroom walls.
